Data Collection and Experiments in the Field

The Media Lab is a space designed to facilitate experimental and observation data collection and the testing of participants in a variety of tasks relevant to the study of media and communication, and psychological processes relevant to society and politics. The Lab is accessible to CSDC members, post-docs, and graduate students. These facilities are available online, in the lab, or in the field. 


Four tablets are available to take into the field to do survey data collection and survey experiments. A laptop equipped with BioGraph is also available. Find below a complete list of softwares you can use to do data collection and experiments in the field.



Instructions and useful links

BioGraph Physiology Suite from Thought Technologies Version 2010 Software and sensory equipment used in experiments to measure and analyse physiological response to stimuli. Equipment includes: skin conductance sensor, temperature sensor, heart rate and eye tracker device.
Qualtrics Use to collect online survey data, including survey experiments. Available to use on tablet to take into the field.
Inquisit Collect data from a variety of socio-cognitive tasks online or in the lab. These measures can be integrated with either experimental or observational designs. Available to use on tablet to take into the field.
