CSDC Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows are eligible for one travel grant of $1250 per academic year to present a paper/ poster at a conference or workshop.
Note that the $1,250 increase was effective beginning April 01 2016, and cannot be applied retrospectively. This means any conference attended before April 01 2016 is not eligible for a $1,250 reimbursement. For conferences before April 01 2016, the previous travel grant amount of $1,000 applies.
Students and fellows should send their request for funding merged into a single PDF file to firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications for CSDC travel grants can be submitted throughout the academic year (from September to August).
Students who have not used their travel grant in the previous academic year are eligible to use it in the following year. However, such credits cannot be extended beyond one academic year.
Your application for the CSDC travel grant must contain:
- First name and last name
- University affiliation
- Program (MA, PhD or postdoc)
- Name of the conference or workshop
- Date and place of conference or workshop
- Title of paper/poster presentation
Proof of acceptance
You need to attach the proof of acceptance to present your paper/poster.
Proof of conference registration
You need to attach the proof of conference/workshop registration.
You need to attach your flight, bus or train itinerary.
NOTE that you need to keep your original boarding passes. After the conference you need to send your boarding passes to email@example.com. Students at Université de Montréal and Université Laval have to submit their original receipts and boarding passes at their respective departmental secretaries at UdeM or U Laval.

CSDC travel grant allocation
Following the review of your application, the applicant will receive an email notification with details of the allocated travel grant.
