The Centre for the Study of Democratic Citizenship presents: :
CSDC Methodology Winter School 2025
When : Friday January 24, 2025, all day
Where : Université de Montréal and ZOOM
The Graduate Student and Post-doctoral Fellow Committee is writing to solicit your participation as instructors for the 10th edition of the CSDC’s Methods Winter School of the CSDC. This year, the Winter School will be held on January 24th, 2025 in person, at the Université de Montréal, and online on Zoom.
Usually, instructors offer an introduction to qualitative and quantitative methods to master’s and PhD students. This year, in addition to these introductory workshops, we would like to encourage participants to suggest sessions on various topics that could open the door to broader discussions about conducting social science research. Examples include research ethics, ontology, epistemology, as well as professional development workshops on how to manage your time when you are working alone at home, how to organize a calendar research, etc.
Should you be interested in giving a methodological course, (such as an introduction to R or to Stata or how to conduct interviews) or if you would like to suggest another a course, (such as how to choose an ontological position), please send your proposals to cecd-csdc@umontreal.ca, before December 1st. Instructors can teach a course alone or in teams of two (in English or in French). The Winter School also represents a teaching experience for upper-year PhD students and postdocs. Remuneration will be allocated for each course.
To those who would like to attend the training, more information will be coming soon.
