My research project focuses on measuring the salience of election promises. I intend to use weighting techniques and machine learning algorithms to determine which Government of Canada promises to receive the most attention in Canadian legislative debates and media. I aim to cross-reference this data with survey data to determine the salience of promises for minority sociodemographic groups, particularly Indigenous peoples, to document the presence of these issues in media and legislative discussions.
