Title: The Political Construction of Artificial Intelligence in Canadian Federal Political Discourse
My project uses computational text analysis to map how artificial intelligence has been framed in Canadian political discussions and policy documents, from the 2017 Pan-Canadian AI Strategy to the national strategies of 2026. It develops an annotation framework for AI and politics tailored to the Canadian bilingual context, with the goal of quantitatively measuring changes in the framing of artificial intelligence in federal political discourse between 2017 and 2026 through a supervised machine learning approach.
