This phenomenon is observed both between citizens, but also between the population, media actors and political institutions. This situation is worrying since the basis of democratic life requires an explicit acceptance of conflict, but also and above all a form of democratic solidarity built on mutual trust and a deep conviction that collective choices serve a common good. Several causes are responsible for the current situation. Some are political, others social or cultural, while our democratic infrastructures are crumbling and struggling to reinvent themselves. The social, human and pure sciences can play a crucial role in better understanding these dynamics, both through an empirical approach and rigorous theoretical reflection.<\/p>\n For this conference co-organized by the CSDC and the RCPDI, we invite the submission of a wide range of contributions from all relevant disciplines on one or more of the three research axes of the CSDC<\/a> or the research axes of the RCDPI<\/a>.
