THE FORUM
- The Public Forum will deal with Senate Reform, and will put forward the idea that the Senate should be selected by lottery to form a randomly selected citizens’ assembly.
- The format of the event will be loosely based on the “Dragons’ Den” concept, where a panel of five critics will grill two proponents of the Senate-by-Lottery idea.
- The Dragons will be: (1) Edie Austin (journalist at the Montreal Gazette), (2) Andrew Potter (Director of the Institute for the Study of Canada), (3) Paul J. Massicotte (Senator), and (4) a randomly selected volunteer from the audience.
