Recherche
Colin Scott's research focuses on intergroup relations and political participation. He investigates barriers to the equitable participation of minorities in society and how diversity influences public opinion and policy preferences in Quebec and Canada. He is also concerned with how research is conducted in cross-cultural settings and with ways to improve the representation of marginalized groups in the research process. His work draws on insights from political behaviour and psychology to better understand the integration and adaptation processes of immigrants, refugees, and other migrants as well as the influence of intergroup contact and stereotypes in shaping majority group members’ solidarity with cultural, ethnic, and religious minorities.
